Privacy Policy

How Pulse collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the Pulse Android app. Pulse is a social discovery service for adults aged 18 and over.

Effective 22 October 2026 Android · Google Play Adults 18+

1Scope and operator

This Privacy Policy explains how Pulse (“Pulse”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information in connection with the Pulse Android application and related services (the “Service”). Pulse is a social discovery service intended for adults. In this policy, “you” means the person using the Service.

This policy applies to information processed through the Service. It does not apply to third-party services that have their own privacy policies, including app store services, hosting and infrastructure providers, chat infrastructure providers, analytics and attribution partners, and payment or checkout providers. We encourage you to review those policies.

By using the Service, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree with this policy, do not use the Service.

2Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Account and profile details. Your display name, age, gender, ZIP code, bio, profession, education, height, and profile photos.
  • Content and activity. Posts, photos and videos you publish, audio recordings you create, likes and Hi actions, visitor activity, reports, blocks, and messages you send in chat, together with related metadata such as time and delivery or read state.
  • Support communications. The contact email and contents of messages you send to us for support, privacy requests, or safety reports.
  • Purchase and subscription information. Coin balances, transaction history, product identifiers, subscription status, and purchase verification data.

Information collected automatically

  • Account and session data. An installation-scoped account identifier, your Pulse user ID, and a session token that keeps you signed in.
  • Device and app data. Device model, operating-system version, app version, language, network state, IP address, and an approximate region that may be inferred from your IP address.
  • Usage and diagnostic data. Feature interactions, screen and funnel events, error and crash information, and security logs.
  • Analytics data. Event data processed through our analytics and attribution partners, such as app launches, discovery activity, Feed events, chat events, and purchase-flow events.
  • Push notification data. A notification token used to deliver notifications to your device.

Photos, camera, microphone, and location

If you grant photo library access, Pulse can access photos and videos you select from your device gallery for your profile, posts, or chat. If you grant camera access, you can also capture photos or videos directly in the app. If you grant microphone access, you can record audio within Pulse.

Pulse may use approximate location, including the ZIP code you enter and an approximate region inferred from your network information, to support discovery and show relevant people or content. We do not use precise or background location, and we do not request health data or government identification numbers.

Payment information

Coin and membership purchases are processed by Google Play or a third-party checkout provider. We receive purchase status, product details, and transaction identifiers needed to verify and credit your purchase. We do not receive or store your full payment card number. The payment provider’s own privacy policy applies to the payment details you enter there.

Please do not send sensitive information through posts or chat. Government numbers, financial account details, health information, home addresses, and access credentials should not be shared on Pulse or with other users.

3How we use information

We use information to operate, protect, and improve Pulse, including to:

  • create and secure your account, complete registration, and maintain your session;
  • provide discovery, swipe, Hi, Feed, likes, visitors, profiles, and chat;
  • show potentially relevant people and content using your profile, ZIP code, and activity, without targeted advertising;
  • process coin and membership purchases, verify transactions, maintain balances, and manage subscription status;
  • review reports, enforce our Terms, detect fraud, spam, abuse, and other harmful activity, and protect users;
  • respond to support requests and privacy or deletion requests;
  • measure usage, diagnose problems, and improve features and performance;
  • comply with law, respond to legal process, and protect our rights, property, users, and the public.

We do not sell, rent, or lease personal information. We do not use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising, and we do not use it for profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

4Device features and permissions

Pulse asks for access only when a feature needs it. Android may also show its own privacy indicators and permission controls; those are provided by the operating system, not by Pulse.

  • Camera. Used to capture photos or videos within Pulse.
  • Microphone. Used to record audio when you choose a recording feature.
  • Photos and media. Used to access photos and videos you select from your device gallery for your profile, posts, or chat.
  • Location. Used to obtain approximate location to support discovery and relevant content. We do not use precise or background location.
  • Notifications. Used to send notifications about activity, messages, and account-related updates.
  • Network access. Required to communicate with our servers, load content, send messages, sync your data, and process purchases. The app also reads network state to handle connectivity errors.

5How we share information

We share information only as described in this policy, and we do not sell it. The categories of recipients are:

  • Service providers. Third-party companies that provide services on our behalf, such as hosting and storage, chat infrastructure, analytics and attribution, app store billing, payment and checkout, email and support tools, and security or fraud prevention. They receive information needed to perform their services and are bound by written agreements that require confidentiality, use restrictions, and an equivalent level of protection for the information.
  • Legal and safety recipients. Courts, regulators, law enforcement, or other parties when we believe disclosure is required by law or legal process, or is necessary to protect rights, property, safety, or the integrity of the Service, or to enforce our Terms.
  • Business transfer recipients. A successor or acquirer in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.
  • Aggregated or de-identified recipients. We may use and share aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be linked to you.

Our service providers may process information in the United States or other countries. Where required, we use contractual or other safeguards for cross-border transfers.

6What other users can see

Pulse is a social service. Information you choose to share may be visible to other users, including your display name, profile details and photos, posts and images, likes or visitor activity, and messages you send. Other users may save, screenshot, or share what they receive. Once information has reached another person, we cannot guarantee that we can recall or remove it.

Do not post or send information you want to keep private. Reports and blocks are used for safety and are handled as described in our Terms of Service and Child Safety Policy.

7Automated systems and safety

Pulse uses automated systems to help operate the Service, such as ordering discovery cards and Feed content, measuring feature performance, and identifying spam, fraud, and abuse. These systems support the Service; they do not make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects for you.

The current release does not include a generative AI feature. If we introduce one, we will update this policy and provide any required choices before it is enabled. We may use automated signals alongside human review when handling reports and safety issues.

8Data retention

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, maintain security, and enforce our Terms. The actual period depends on the type of information and why we hold it:

  • Account and profile data. Retained while your account is active, then through the deletion process and a limited period for backup, dispute, and legal purposes.
  • Usage and diagnostic logs. Retained for a limited operational window, then deleted or de-identified.
  • Support communications. Retained until the matter is resolved and any related recordkeeping obligation ends.
  • Purchase and tax records. Retained as required by applicable law and payment-provider rules.
  • Backups. Residual copies may remain until the ordinary backup cycle overwrites them.

When you delete your account, content you already sent to another user may remain in that person’s inbox or device. Aggregated or de-identified information may be retained because it can no longer reasonably be linked to you.

9Account deletion

You can request deletion in the app: open Me → Settings → Delete account, type Delete, and confirm. The app schedules deletion and signs you out. A seven-day recovery window follows. Signing back in during that window, or choosing Keep My Account on the countdown screen, cancels the request.

After the seven-day window ends, deletion is completed when you next sign in, and the account cannot be restored. You will then start with a new account if you choose to continue using Pulse. Removing the app from your device does not, by itself, delete your account.

If you cannot access the app, you can request deletion through the account deletion page or by emailing pulseandfeedback@pulseflee.com. We may need information to locate and verify the account.

Deletion removes the account and associated profile data, uploaded photos, posts, and social records from active systems, subject to the retention rules above. Coin balances, memberships, and other virtual entitlements are extinguished. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel a Google Play subscription; manage or cancel it in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions.

10Security

We use technical, administrative, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, and alteration. These include encryption in transit where supported, access controls, monitoring, and confidentiality obligations for personnel and service providers.

No storage or transmission system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for protecting your device and session. If you use a shared device, sign out when you are finished. Report suspected security issues to pulseandfeedback@pulseflee.com.

11California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), gives you rights to know, access, correct, and delete personal information; to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information; to limit certain uses of sensitive personal information; and to be free from discrimination for exercising these rights.

Categories collected and disclosed in the preceding 12 months

  • Identifiers: account and device identifiers, user ID, IP address, and contact email.
  • Internet or network activity: app interactions, feature events, and diagnostic or security logs.
  • User content: profile details, posts, images, messages, reports, and blocks.
  • Visual information: profile photos and images you upload or send.
  • Approximate location: the ZIP code you provide.
  • Commercial information: coin balances, purchase history, and membership status.
  • Inferences: inferences drawn from the information above to operate discovery and safety features.

We disclose these categories to service providers for the business purposes described in this policy. We do not sell personal information, do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and do not use sensitive personal information beyond providing and protecting the Service. We do not make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.

To exercise your rights, email pulseandfeedback@pulseflee.com with the subject “California privacy request”. We will verify your request using information we already hold and may ask for additional details where necessary. An authorized agent may submit a request with written proof of authority. We will respond within the time required by law. Exercising a privacy right will not result in denial of service or a different level of service.

12Other U.S. state privacy rights

Residents of other U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a portable copy of personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal information, or certain profiling. We do not carry out those opt-out activities.

Send requests to pulseandfeedback@pulseflee.com. If we deny a request and your state law provides an appeal, you may reply to our response to appeal. You may also contact your state attorney general.

13Age requirement and minors

Pulse is intended only for adults aged 18 or older. Registration requires an age between 18 and 99, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that an underage person has created an account or provided personal information, we may delete the information and close the account without notice.

Child sexual abuse material and child sexual exploitation are prohibited without exception. We may remove content, preserve records, close accounts, and report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children or law enforcement where required. To report an underage user or child-safety concern, use the in-app report control or email pulseandfeedback@pulseflee.com. See our Child Safety Standards and CSAE Policy for details.

14International processing

Pulse is operated from the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Privacy laws in those locations may differ from the laws where you live. Where required, we use contractual or other safeguards for these transfers.

15Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in the Service, our practices, or applicable law. The effective date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised. If a change is material, we will provide notice through the Service or on this page before it takes effect. Continued use of the Service after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
